New Heights is a wellness and recovery center for adults with mental illnesses. It offers support in every aspect of emotional and physical wellness, and provides opportunities for people to connect with each other. New Heights uses a strengths-based, recovery-oriented approach that fuses cultural competency with trauma sensitivity. Members are New Heights' driving force behind all programming, and often assist with classes and groups.
The Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services funds holistic programming at New Heights, including classes on food and nutrition, positive thinking, mindfulness, and more. New Heights' facility has computers available, where members can enhance their personal skills, search for jobs, create resumes, and access social media.
From on-site gatherings to outside excursions, New Heights promotes community activities that enrich the lives of its members.
